ABOUT

I have worked in Pre-K-12 education for 10+ years as an educator, researcher, and policymaker. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History Education from Toccoa Falls College, Cum Laude, a law degree in Child, Family, and Education Law from Emory University, With Honors and a Tier 1 Education Leadership Certificate from the University of Georgia. I hold educator certifications from the Georgia Performance Standards Commission in the areas of English, Special Education, Political Science, History, and Education Leadership.

In my 10+ in education law, policy, teaching, and research, I developed a heart for improving education equity and academic achievement outcomes for black, brown, latin-X, low-income, and disabled students. This population of students historically underperform their white peers (academically and behaviorally), are less likely to enroll in gifted classes, and are more likely to receive discipline infractions.
